HAPPY HALLOWEEN


October 31st Halloween
Halloween is celebrated all over the world on October 31st therefore it is a good idea to explore it with our students.
Themed classes are a great opportunity to learn not only English language but other aspects of the English speaking culture.
Halloween es celebra a tot el món el 31 d'octubre, per tant és una bona idea per explorar amb els nostres alumnes.
Classes temàtiques són una gran oportunitat d'aprendre no només l'idioma anglès, sinó també altres aspectes de la cultura anglesa.





Background
Halloween originated as a pagan festival especially in Northern Europe. Some people claim that Halloween is a day on which spirits try to contact living people. As it takes place one evening before Christian All Saints’s Day, it is also called All Saint’s Eve.
Halloween va sorgir com un festival pagà sobretot al nord d'Europa. Algunes persones afirmen que Halloween és un dia en què els esperits intenten posar-se en contacte amb la gent de vida.
What do people do?
Typical festive activities for Halloween include the use of costumes and masks, carving lanterns out of pumpkins, playing pranks, telling scary stories and playing treat- or –tricks. Halloween costumes range from vampires, ghosts and skeletons to witches and devil creatures.
Activitats festives típiques per Halloween inclouen l'ús de vestits i màscares, buidant les carabasses, fent bromes, explicant històries de por i jugant “Tracte o broma” Algunes disfresses de Halloween poden ser: vampirs, fantasmes , esquelets , bruixes i diables.


What we have done in English class
Teaching Halloween
We have read some texts and poems about Halloween. This is usually a great time to introduce a wide range of new vocabulary which they may not normally appear. We have learnt some new vocabulary about Halloween such as: Pumpkin, witch, ghost, candy, spider, monster, trick or treat….
Hem llegit alguns textos i poemes sobre Halloween. És un bon moment per introduir un vocabulari . Algunes paraules que hem après: carbassa, bruixa, fantasma, caramel, aranya, monstre, truc o tracte ....
